Welcome to Nashville based songwriter Rob Repass's Music. Rob was born in Toledo, Ohio and grew up in Chattanooga Tennessee. As far as writing, I write just about any style of music but lean towards pop, folk/rock, country, rock and sync. “When you break it all down, I write songs, I’ll let others call it what they will”.
In the recent years I have had the great honor of writing with the super talented Callie Young, who is an up and coming artist.
HISTORY HAS IT-
I began my quest to play guitar in the 60's inspired by the records my mother had, ‘The Everly Brothers’, ‘Lefty Frizzell’, ‘Johnny Mathis’ to name a few. I remember that all I wanted to do was play and sing like that”. “The exposure that solidified my drive was Ricky Nelson on the Ozzie and Harriet Show and then 'Where the Action Is' and Hullabaloo”. “I was hooked”. "Then came The Beatles, the Who, Cream, - Man, it was the mid 60's.
I briefly spent some time as a tour support player in the 70's as well lead guitar and vocals for Nikkota, A regional Rock band in the Mid west. Attended Sheila Davis's The Craft of Lyric Writing course and studied music theory.
While living in the north in the 80s, I taught Guitar, beginners piano, voice and theory at a private conservatory and traveled back and forth to Nashville. In the early 90's, I finally made the move, family and all, to Music City to develop more as a songwriter.
I started a design and media Artist Development company on 16th ave, The Third Coast Group.
WHATS UP NOW - Working on new material, spending time on singing more, getting back out to do writer rounds again, meeting new writers. As well as working on Continuing Ed Advanced Certificate in Songwriting at Berklee On Line.
Please take a moment to stop by Callie Young Music and check out this up coming artist.
